To edit text in text blocks within a Webflow template, you’ll need to use the Webflow Designer. Here’s how to do it step by step.
1. Open the Webflow Designer
- Log into Webflow and open the project that uses the template.
- Click Designer from your dashboard to enter the visual editor.
2. Select the Text Element
- In the canvas, click on the text block you want to change (this can be a paragraph, heading, button text, etc.).
- Alternatively, use the Navigator panel (press F) to locate and select the text element if it’s inside nested containers.
3. Edit the Text Directly
- With the text block selected, double-click it to make it editable.
- Type or paste your new content.
- Press Enter or click outside the text box to finish editing.
4. Use the Settings Panel if Applicable
- If the text element pulls from a CMS Collection, you won’t be able to edit it directly on the canvas.
- Instead, go to the CMS panel, click into the appropriate Collection, and edit the content in the individual item.
- Once saved, it will update everywhere that Collection field is used in the design.
5. Style Adjustments (If Needed)
- You can change fonts, size, color, and spacing in the Style panel on the right after selecting the text element.
- Make sure you’re editing the correct class or tag, especially if the style is linked to multiple elements.
Summary
To edit text in a Webflow template, enter the Designer, select the text element, and type in your new content. If it’s CMS-driven, edit the content in the CMS panel. Always verify whether you're editing static or dynamic text.
