To allow your client to make smaller content or design edits without involving you, you can grant them Designer access in Webflow by inviting them as a Workspace member with the appropriate role.
1. Understand the Access Levels
- Designer Access allows users to open projects in the Webflow Designer, enabling them to change layouts, styles, CMS content, and more.
- Editor Access (via email invite from Site Settings > Editor) only allows content edits using the Editor interface, not full design changes.
- To give Designer access, your client must be added to your Workspace, and the Workspace must be on a plan that supports multiple collaborators (Core, Growth, or higher).
2. Go to Workspace Settings and Add User
- Log in to Webflow, then click your Workspace name in the left-hand panel.
- Go to Workspace Settings > Members.
- Click Invite Members.
- Enter your client’s email address.
3. Assign the Designer Role
- Choose the Designer role when inviting them.
- If you're on a Core plan, you can invite 1 other Designer along with you.
- On a Growth or higher plan, you can invite more Designers as needed.
4. Let the Client Access the Designer
- Once invited, your client will get an email to join the workspace.
- After accepting, they can open the relevant project and access the Webflow Designer directly from the Dashboard.
5. (Optional) Restrict Access With Permissions
- Webflow does not currently support fine-grained Designer permissions (e.g., limiting access to specific elements or pages).
- All Designers have full access to all projects in the Workspace unless you separate projects into different Workspaces.
Summary
To give your client Designer rights, invite them as a Workspace Member with the Designer role via Workspace Settings > Members. Make sure you're on a plan that allows multiple Designers. This will give them full access to the Webflow Designer to implement layout or design-related changes.
