A read-only share link in Webflow lets others view your project in the Designer without the ability to make changes. Here's how to create and use one.
1. Enable the Read-Only Link
- Go to your Webflow project dashboard.
- Click Project Settings.
- Navigate to the Settings > General tab.
- Scroll down to the Share section.
- Toggle on “Enable read-only link”.
- A unique URL will be generated. Click “Copy link” to copy it.
2. Share the Link
- Paste the link into an email, message, or document to share with collaborators, clients, or support teams.
- Anyone with the link can open the project in view-only mode within the Webflow Designer.
3. Understand What Others Can See
- They can view the design, structure, styles, and CMS collections.
- They cannot edit the project, publish, or access project settings.
- This is ideal for sharing with developers, collaborators, or for troubleshooting.
4. Disable the Link (Optional)
- To revoke access, go back to the Share section of Project Settings.
- Toggle “Enable read-only link” off.
- The previously shared link will no longer work.
Summary
To use a read-only share link in Webflow, enable it under Project Settings > General, then share the URL with others so they can view your project without editing access.
