Webflow has not yet implemented a feature that allows multiple users to be in Designer mode simultaneously. Currently, only one user can be in Designer at a time, while others must wait until the active user exits or switches to Read-Only Mode.
1. Current Collaboration Features
- Read-Only Mode: Multiple users can view the project simultaneously but cannot make edits.
- Editor Mode: Non-design contributors (e.g., content editors) can update text, images, and CMS items without affecting the design.
- Permissions & Roles: Webflow offers different role levels (Admin, Designer, Editor) to manage access.
2. Alternatives & Workarounds
- Use Read-Only Mode to Preview Changes: Other team members can follow the active Designer’s progress before taking over.
- Coordinate Editing Schedules: Teams can set specific times when each member works in the Designer to prevent conflicts.
- Use Webflow's Staging & Publishing Tools: Designers can publish to a staging domain for team reviews before pushing live.
Summary
Webflow still limits Designer mode to one user at a time, but multiple users can collaborate using Read-Only Mode, Editor Mode, and structured workflow strategies.
