When you paste your Webflow website link into a text message, especially on mobile, the preview includes a logo or icon pulled from your site’s meta settings—often the default Webflow favicon or social sharing image.
To remove or customize this, you need to update your site’s favicon and Open Graph settings.
1. Update the Favicon
- Go to Project Settings → General tab.
- Scroll down to the Favicon section.
- Upload a custom favicon (32x32px .ico or .png) to replace the default Webflow icon.
- Click Save Changes after uploading.
2. Set Your Open Graph Image
- In the SEO tab (inside the same Project Settings), scroll to the Open Graph Settings section.
- Upload a custom image (recommended size: 1200x630px).
- This controls how your link appears when shared via SMS, social media, and messaging apps.
- Click Save Changes.
3. Publish Your Website
- Click Publish in the top-right corner of the Designer or Project Settings.
- Ensure you publish to the correct connected domains.
- Webflow changes only apply after publishing.
4. Clear Text Preview Cache (If Needed)
- Some mobile devices may cache preview images for URLs.
- Try sending the link to a different number or use a different device to test the new preview.
- You can also create and try a new page URL to bypass client-side caching.
Summary
To remove the default logo shown when pasting your Webflow link in texts, upload a custom favicon and Open Graph image in Project Settings, then publish the site. This ensures proper previews instead of showing the Webflow template icon.
