In Webflow, there is no specific "unlink" button specifically dedicated to symbols. However, you can break the link between a symbol and its instances by detaching it from its original symbol source. To achieve this, you need to follow these steps:
1. Open the page where you have placed the symbol or go to the Symbols panel.
2. Locate the symbol instance that you want to unlink or detach.
3. Select the symbol instance by clicking on it. You'll see a blue outline and the symbol's properties will appear in the right-hand panel.
4. In the right-hand panel, you'll find a checkbox labeled "Detach from Symbol." Click on it to detach the symbol instance from its original source.
By detaching the symbol instance, you essentially transform it into a regular element that is no longer connected to the master symbol. Any subsequent changes made to the original symbol will not affect the detached instance.
It's important to note that detaching a symbol instance also means that you won't be able to apply global changes to all instances of that same symbol. Any modifications made to the detached instance would be unique to that specific element.
Additionally, if you want to completely remove a symbol from your project, you can select the symbol in the Symbols panel and click on the trash bin icon to delete it. Deleting a symbol will also remove all its instances from your project.
Remember, detaching a symbol instance should be done with caution, as it can lead to inconsistencies and difficulties in maintaining a consistent design across your project.
